My bet is on the maxwell group,

I wouldn't bet on anything in an ARG appearing in LOST.  Hell, I'm still waiting to see Thomas Mittelwerk.  LOST itself is almost too unwieldy to payoff everything it's raised.  It can't accommodate everything in the ARGs too.  In a way, it's sort of frustrating to think that the in-story explanation for The (now largely forgotten) Numbers won't actually reach the mainstream television office.

During the first ARG, I thought they would actually find a way to tie in the storyline, and we'd eventually see the film of Alvar Hanso within the show.  But we never did.  And probably won't.  So I would caution against resorting to the ARG for a clue about anything.

In a way I'm glad it's not tied in.   And I hope that they will address the numbers again on the show.   yes

I posted this elsewhere...

New theory:  Even though these four people have been sent on a mission, to get Benjamin Linus, I believe that each one has their own agenda.  Faraday really does  want to rescue the survivors (his crying at the news that the plane had been found on the bottom of the ocean makes me think that, once he had heard they could still be alive, he took on this mission in order to actually save them, too); CS Lewis has her own separate agenda (possibly she is a child who had  been on the island when she was younger and now she's back to find out how her parents died), Frank wants to find out wtf is going on, and Miles, he could truly be the only one without a separate agenda...

Christiane I
Oscar Talbot
ROV 1 and 2 (I drove them Cheesy)

We are two episodes in and there already a few references to the ARG

Miles' agenda just may be money. But he seemed pretty stoked about finding where Ben was. I would bet money that Ghost Naomi told him something about Ben that got him that stoked.   Wink

True!  We can assume they're all  getting paid to be there, but yeah, he seems to be the mercenary type.  Maybe he knows that there is something left on the Black Rock other than old, decrepit dyno-mite...  Wink   Can you say 'pirate treasure'?

In the words of Terrence from south park "Lets go hunting for treasure phillip"  Grin

The black rock was a slave trading vessel, had scientists on board, carried dynamite... I am guessing there could have been some Gold on there! Possibly now at the others' temple?

Ooohh, very good tie in, Cap'n.  And you do  need dyno-mite to blast for gold if it's not already getting carried down the streams (like in the California Gold Rush of 1849.  The rivers were literally running with gold...)

[offtopic]

Ok, ARG2 seems to have more connections, but I feel absolutely positive, that the first one was a cop out. I mean, it doesn't really matter what the numbers are to us. They are fictional ! It's important How, When and What HURLEY learns about them (they are tied to his personal revelations). And trust me - when he does, so will we.

For all I know, they invented some fake dharma stations (borderline-foilers), some nonsense about the numbers (which sounded even worse, then most crackpot theories on this forum) and made some footage with some unrelated people.

Yeah, ARG2 seems to be a different beast. It felt more like they had some information on LOST season 4 and they just spitted out before the premier, so the player will actually benefit from playing it, not just get some random crap. So if maxwell group DOES appear on lost, it's because it's always WAS in lost, they just spoiled it in ARG! Also note, that ARG2 never claimed to 'explain' anything..

[/offtopic]

E: those freighter guys definitly have their own agendas. I think that was kinda the point of their short flashbacks, to show that many different things.. tie them all together.. Details are blurry, Mathew Abbadon definitly has an evil agenda of his own. And Naomi.

P.S. If they are in it for the gold, losties can offer them some nice diamonds too Tongue

I really liked the numbers explanation. I didn't play the game, I just benefited from everyone else's hard work: I just looked it up on YouTube. So maybe because I didn't go through all the headache to get the film pieces and tie them all together in the right order I wasn't disappointed with the results... but I don't think i would have been anyway, even if I had done all the work. I'm actually surprised that they haven't put this film strip on Lost yet.

oh, sorry... this is off-topic, isn't it?  stupid

Let me clarify....

I wouldn't count an anything in the ARG making anything other than a cameo in LOST.

Quick... name the one and only reference to the Valenzetti Equation that actually appeared on the show LOST.  It was on the blast door map.  That's a cameo.

Now, if the Christiane I becomes an integral part of the TV show itself, I'll eat my words.

How did Oscar Talbot appear in LOST?
