This might be a really dumb question (its late and Ive been out and had more than a few to drink) but... Ive been re watching them in anticipation for season 5 and I was wondering, how exactally did the late henry and his wife actually get to the island? I know bens cover story was the smily balloon, but all the food drops were in these balloons... I cant remember if there was ever an explanation for their arrival on the island?

Hey Sam.  Nope, so far we haven't been given the full backstory to the real Henry Gale.  I heard somewhere that it was supposed to be explained in Season 4 but, due to the writers' strike, was pushed back to Season 5 instead.  We do have the note that the real Gale wrote to his wife Jenny (who actually wasn't even on the balloon, contrary to what Ben said), but that's about it.  We still have no idea who or what actually killed him.  The Dharma food drops did come in balloons, but I don't think they had smiley faces on them, and Gale's note seems to indicate that at least the crashed balloon part of the story was true:

ohhh ok, I havent watched all of them, only halfway through series 2 at the moment, I though all the drops were in the smily balloons!

Ive just realised, the drops wouldnt have been in balloons at all would they... theyd mbe in parachutes! *slaps head*
