take off the balls at the bottom and its so totally a reed.. maybe its a penis? also the last symbol looks like the foot in a way... and the foot is the later B... but who knows?

according to wikipedia, sometimes the egyptians put heiroglyphics on top of eachother for various reasons...  so the third glyph (the one after the one we can't see) could be two put together... so here's my take

Tilt it so that it's "feet" are horizontal, and the top end it pointing straight up, you'll see. As for the third gliph, I have no clue.  It resembles two letters put together and placed on their side.

Lost= I can't get no rest.  LOL

Heiroglyphics there, okay.  But do they really translate into letters that spell out an English word?  I don't even think Heiroglyphics can be translated like that...

I totally agree on your translation. It's the only one I can make sense of. As for the anagram... Maybe it's "SHEI RA"  ( Using the same 3.2 pattern as the numbers were shown ie, 108.00 )

Could be... just one minor correction though.  It wouldn't be SHEI RA, because the EI glyph can be romanized as either E or I, but not both (at least I think that's how it works).  So it would either be SHI RA or SHE RA, we probably won't know until we find out the missing glyph.

I wanted to make note that you can see what the image of the second hieroglyph would have been.  I paused on my tevo and stepped it forward.  If you watch the pattern, you'll see that each rotating rectangle has four sides.  So, the only one we don't see in the rotation is the one on the side showing of the second rectangle.  But if you pause it when locke hits execute and step it forward, right before the numbers click back to zero, you see the first rectangle flip to the side we haven't seen.  It's a freaky demon looking thing.  I think it's hyros, I'm looking for it now.

Point being, my husband deleted the episode (we're newly weds, he didn't know any better) but if anyone else has capturing ability, will you please go to the place I mentioned in the episode and screen capture it so everyone can see the image?  That'd be sweet.

I still think these symbols represent Constellations related to Apollo with 5 bunker symbols, and the sixth being the Swan (which they are in, and no need to show a symbol).

We also see this in the preview:

   

So if that is the missing symbol, it also relates to Apollo, as Apollo was the father of Asclepius, the god of medicine, and the cadeuses was his staff and symbol, and are also a constellation.
