Dull and uninteresting........in an alluring way

« on: March 05, 2010, 05:45:34 PM »

OK, my wife and I have been talking about the show, and it just dawned on me that as we appear to be heading for a: it was all happening because Jacob and the man in black wanted it to/it's a game of chess, I would happily see one of the previously denied endings re-emerge as the real ending.

I would rather see the island turn out to be a spaceship, or have all of our Losties wake up in a Red Dwarf - Back to Reality style virtual reality machine or find out that they're al in purgatory, than to have it as simply a bit of a tiff between two blokes who've gone off each other.

Anyone else hoping to see one of these endings turn up again?

Yeah, and how 'bout the whole 'dead is dead'? Right...I guess this is the zombie season after all. How many walking dead have we seen by now? Yemi, Christian, Sayid, Locke, and if you count Charlie, Libby, Ana Lucia... you get the drift. Ben is not the only one who lies...

Joop

Totally forgot about Joop!! That's depressed me even more. That ARG was so cool, and ultimately pointless.

Okay... but Yemi and Christian are visions.  Locke is not Locke, it's the MiB.  Charlie was alive in the FLASH SIDEWAYS.  And Libby and Ana Lucia... what are you doing, giving away spoilers?  The only person who literally resurrected and pissed all over the "dead is dead" rule is Sayid.

Whatever... semantics... I rest my case. Dead Is Dead, unless you're Sayid...

Send Sayid back in time before the incident to go Rambo-style on the Others.

Joop kind of represents a change in heart that the writers/producers seem to have had.  All the quasi-scientific explanations have been replaced by mystical ones.  Joop was unique because of longevity, like Richard.  But instead of a life-expanding DHARMA treatment, it's just magic Jacob.  Not the injections (whatever happened to that?) or anything like that.  Same thing with the numbers.  Coefficients in a doomsday equation?  Nah, cosmic football jerseys for magic "candidates".

I'm not saying it's a cop out, but....

No, wait.   That's what I'm saying.

i am sure the ending was conceived and prepared a long time ago.
and i am also sure that many will shoot it down
most of whom could not craft anything better themselves
so i will state my own and when the lost writers best it i will have no complaints

my ending would see MIB trekking to the frozen cavern in the finale with candidates to turn the wheel
jacks fathers corpse is on the black rock with ricardos
MIB turns the wheel to skew the timelines
flash of white light
we see lax scenes similar to la x ep 1 and 2
sitting beside jack on the plane desmonds nose begins to bleed
back to MIB turning the wheel
flash of white light
the island sinks and the black rock is left floating in the water in 1845
captain christian shephard is turning the ships wheel
he goes below deck where young eloise, widmore, richard and desmond are chained up as slaves
with an evil smile he produces a snowglobe and shows desmond the lax scenes time trapped in the globe and then desmonds nose begins to bleed
cue the infamous smokey score
then roll credits

having seen the first (almost) half of this season. I feel like I know I'm going to be disappointed, and nothing they can concoct will be good enough.

There is one ending though, that would be an extreme cop out, that I would not mind at all: Rambaldi laugh

Eventhough that would be terrible, I would be fine with that. Thats how desperate I am.

There is no way there is not going to be some kind of dissapointment here.  We got zombies and magic, chosen candidates, destiny....we are certainly not likely to get the scientific explanation to many things.  Though am happy the sickness was explained, I feel like I wasted a lot of time thinking about crap that is not likely going to be explained. I really never thought that the black and white references where going to be litereally explained by black and white robed characters that so far seem to be the good and the bad,
and somehow are balanced by an unknown force, especially since this show always was about flawed people -- all with good and bad traits.

I digress, what ending will make me happy?  More vincent.  I hope it is one where these flashsides are somehow made relevant to insland life.  Don't waste my time with LA jack if he is not going to have something to do with the island.

I also want more on the children, and did I say Vincent?

I got computer issues again and my keyboard is not cooperating so I must run.
