Word. People tend to be more comfortable with what they're familiar with and the popular female 'model' (NOT supermodel!) seems to be fem without too many against-the-grain opinions or too outspoken. Seems a shame really.....oh well, that's one of the things that'll change when the 'good old boy' system gets abolished FOREVER!!!!!!! (Don't worry guys, just imagine strong, smart partners who are willing to get dirty with you conquering the world and then later we still go back to the tent and ......!!!! But I digress.)
So, anybody else wanna join the Poor Tough Chica (She'll Kick Your Ass If You Don't Watch It) Club?
I'll join - one thing I like about LOST is that the writers have created some really interesting female characters - like them or no - they are surprising, multi-faceted and great to watch. The producers chose GOOD actresses, and then let them flesh out their characters in terrific ways. Ana Lucia is so full of rage but at the same time so maternal with her protection of the tailies.
I love that Ana Lucia killed the guy who shot her and killed her baby - its so poetic that she doesn't believe in the system she works for to do her justice. I also loved her scene with Jack in the bar - all sweetness and flirty and compassionate, I hope they bring out some more of those qualities - maybe get together with Jack (the poor guy needs an outlet - maybe he'd be less of a Jacka**.)
Such a great line when Sayid asked how she got the map - "I asked NICELY" And the look on her face when she told Henry Gale that she threw an other in a pit - that don't MESS with me look. so cool.
As for the epi - I thought it was good and set up the next epi really well - it was fun to see a different group going on a trek. And the interplay between Sayid and Charlie (now revenge buddies) and Ana Lucia was terrific.
