I think is the lawyers.. they are always blamed so why not?  Hell, we have Walt's mom, Charlie's lawyer (who got him the commercial gig), Andy (allright not sure he is a lawyer); Walt's adoptive dad... there is a law firm out there that wants to take over the world....

All right, I have two weeks and I am down to this.... please help me....  Cry

Yeah... DeGroot in the lead with a big 29 percent.   Grin  Go Gerald, it's your birthday...  This guy has been mentioned as the guy that started it all... but we don't hear much about him.  Gotta be him.  It's likely that he's still alive- unlike Hanso, all life-extension projects aside...  DeGroot could actually be on the island- in the big ? hatch in the middle.

Yes and no. Valenzetti supposedly disappeared during a flight over central Europe. How do you explain him winding up on an Island half a world away? But then again, a plane full of nigerian drugs crashed on that Island...

Bumping to say...

It's interesting to read what we thought way back when.  The closest choice in the poll is probably "Smokey anthropomorphized".  Smokey himself did actually say, "I'm not an it, I'm a him".  Some people here still have the theory that Smokey and Jacob are two sides of the same entity.
