i searched for "Vincent" and got nothing.  but i know i am not the first person to think of this.  so maybe someone can point me to the thread.

what is the deal with the dog?  i mean...if everything has a purpose and everything is connected...then what about the dog? there is no way a dog would have survived the crash  anyway.  so obviously he is suppose to be on the island. just like everyone else that has survived.   maybe because he plays such an important roll, the writers are just going to make us "not think of him", then BANG..the dog is a huuuge element of the show.   also, in one of  season one's episodes (i forget the title, but it 's the  one where sawyer is trying to hunt down the bore that keeps attacking him) Locke told sawyer about the golden retriever that came to "forgive" his foster mother after his sister fell from the monkey bars and broke her neck..could this be the same dog?  i dont remember how Walt got the dog...it was Brian's i think...so then did something tragic happen to Brian that made the dog come to him?  ...did the dog come after the death of his mother?  ....damn...that dog is important i can feel it.

I did search for "vincent" and it returned 2 pages of results, ranging from vincent being a curse on his owner to vincent being played by a girl dog called Madison, and the presedent of PB-Sales being called Vincent Madison  Smiley

I've often thought that the real Vincent died in the plane crash, and that 'Vincent' is a manifestation of the island.  He has a way of showing up and leading people to significant events, like Jack's dad, Charlie's moth, Kate's horse, etc.

i agree. he runs in the jungle, missing for days, he probably knows way more about the island and the happennings.it's also interesting that this dog once has a certain implied 'special' relation with locke. I mean it wasn't in our face but, this was implied somewhere, i can't seem to remember the exact scene. but one thing, locke makes a whistle when vincent goes missing and walt is looking for him. i don't know why, that scene was interesting.
anyway, i remember that the producers said vincent will play an important role. and if we're seeing vincent in the finale, this should mean smth. don't you think?

Hey guys, remember when Locke told Sawyer a story about a Golden Retriever that was allegedly posessed by his foster sister and lived at his foster home.  Could this dog have the same magical powers as Vincent?

Also, in Deus Ex Machina, right before Locke gets hit by the Gold Pontiac Bonneville, he removes a flyer off his windsheild for a lost dog, and it looks very much like a Golden Retriever...

Well there gotta be something about Vincent. They wouldn't just put a dog into the show without any reason. Maybe Vincent is "him", or lol maybe he knows / met the Others, sicne he's running in and outta the jungle.

Vincent probably takes food from the losties and brings it to Walt to help him out.
