10 out of 10.

The writers are really going to answer to all the questions. And just for that , Lost is the best show ever.

I was waiting for the reason the hatch door lighted Locke. And if they care enough to explain us this, we are going to knowthe reason to every little thing such as the glass eye found in the Arrow station. (maybe it's Fake Henry Gale's ?)

The season finale was great but I was a bit disappinted how it ended because Everyone is disoriented.  Sun and Jin are on the boat.  Sayid is . . . . on the North shore somewhere.  Hurley is walking back to camp.  Michael and Walt are headed out to sea.  Locke, Echo, and Desmond could be dead or alive in a crater where the hatch was.  Jack, Kate, and Sawyer are being taken somewhere?  Your guess is as good as mine about that.  Nonetheless the episode leaves you in an uncertain direction, like in season 1, you knew they were going down the hatch.  Now its a bit more complicated.

Not that it really matters, but during the electromagnetic "incident," or whatever it was, Sayid was shown on the boat with Jin and Sun, covering their ears and looking toward the sky.  So, they're still scattered, but Sayid was definitely shown on the boat.

I love that they answered some questions, and yet gave us more questions to fill our forums with theories.  That's what makes this show fun... the interaction with people all over the globe with similar (and not so similar) ideas and theorum to keep us riveted.  Kudos to the writers for making this show so enjoyable!

Definitely the best season finale I have ever seen!  For each question answered there were ten more unanswered!  I cant get the snowman joke and the snowglobe references out of my head!!!!  *Sigh* Its going to be a long summer.....

10

The snow globe joke and code password is in series 1, micheal writes a card to Walt with a snowman drawn on the front and inside is the joke including the password punchline. The whole show is about Walt, Walt is "HIM"!

A gaping, damp, wilding TEN.

Given that I've watched the epi 4 times since it aired, I'd have to say I really, really like it. Watching it when it aired, I was literally talking out loud, saying things like "Holy shit; Oooh my fucking LORD; Whaaaat? WOW; No waaay...; God DAMN" and so forth, along with various moans, grunts, ooohs and aaahs. I was on the edge of my seat, literally, I was even transfixed during the commercials, just staring and waiting for the show to come back on. As good as season 1's finale was, it seems like daytime television compared to season 2's finale. I felt like I was seeing something immortal, epic, like the legend of the show's greatness being set in stone. The writing and the level of creativity on display is fucking staggering, if you'll excuse my Portuguese. My one and only complaint: I did happen to think, at the onset of "The Challa" (the scene with the two Brazilian gentlemen) that we had gone to commercial, which was a bit distracting. It was such a severe departure in aesthetic, sound quality, lighting, set, that I utterly thought we had gone to a commercial and was kind of taken out of the moment, so it diminished the impact of what was happening when I recovered. Otherwise: Yaaaahhh! Stunning.

I'm gonna stop short of a perfect ten and give it a nine.
reason being: if we have to suffer thru dragging episodes like 'fire and water' or 'the whole truth' during the midseason, in order to get paid off with finale's like this, I'm gonna lose the will to be patient and bear the boring ones. we shouldn't have to wait for the finale's of each season to make sense or give us substance. this episode was more how i wish more episodes were. things made sense. we got answers. we had characters passionately fighting for equally beleivable stances that were in diametrically opposite insistences. falsehoods came out the way they should. contexts got completed. characters were not completely dumb idiots who just bumbled around and 'took it' like  inarticulate rag dolls, for a change. people finally starting talking straight, about things they should have been talking about for ages, now. i want more of this, in all coming episodes.
i am also sorry to see the hatch and its record collection go. i was sorry more of the losties  didn't get to use the hatch. they all should have. it was the only locus of soap and water, heat, storm shelter, a real bed, washing machines, medically possible sterility and defendable fortress that they had. --well, unless  they take to the cadeuceus station, which they still haven't....
but for all that this episode finally gave us, it still didn't quite hit the perfect ten. it let me down in places. it seemed asleep at the wheel in spots. like being on a long drive with a road buddy and asking them all kinds of things  you've been waiting for the chance to really get them to tell you about, and they answer your queries with a spacy, inattentive ' huh? ummm, it was nothing, man. don't ask. hey, you hungry?" or that road hypnosis thousand yard stare that doesn't hear you tho you're right there in the front seat beside them.

so I'm reserving my accolades.  i liked Lockdown' better for it's panicked excitement and the surprise easter egg of the blacklight map. i liked the first time the flip clock showed the heiroglyphics better.

oh, and BTW, we were right. the second symbol  DID stop on the backwards spiral '9'.

this episode felt like a mistimed orgasm. the kind where you waited too long and when it finally releases, it hurts, more than satisfies your aching need.

and based on what we found out tonight, I think this is the first truly interactive tv show in history:  I'm now sure it works like this: the producers tease us, we frantically argue out what it could be on all these forum boards, the writers read all our
ideas, then cull the best ones and write them into the future episodes. we and the actors do not know what  will  happen until it's given to us, and only the parts they give us one episode at a time, so the actors are fans just like us. no one truly knows what is going to happen, not even the writers, because they're waiting for us, the watchers, to come up with theories and explanations that they can take and use in coming scripts.
i really beleive that's what this show is, now. the first ever global interactive cooperative tv  series creation.  never possible before, until the ww web.

we're all globally co-creating this new story together.

and that is worth a one with infinite zero's after it.

That's a neat thought, but I sort of doubt that the legal eagles involved would let anyone write a show this way.  It would be too much risk that someone would sue claiming their idea was stolen.

Wouldn't it be funny if Jack, Sawyer and Kate end up deaf because of the noise?

ah no not really, in fact that would be one of the worst possible outcomes.

I'll say it was an 8. Many times we see an ending like that in other series, resulting in a dissapointing explanation. However, since it's Lost what we're talking about, maybe the continuation of the season 2 will be a lot better than the first episode, where many things didn't make any sense... I hope the 3rd season would become the best season of this great series!!
