the hatch is pretyy much destroyed. eko tried to blow that big door open that locke and desmond were in but it had a reverse effect. so the hatch is basically destroyed.

they're gonna turn it into a soap opera. I don't care about whether Jack and Kate get it on or if Claire likes Charlie again. I want to see people get eaten and stuff blow up dammit!

Season three will begin airing October 4, 2006. It will include 23 episodes that will be delivered in two blocks an initial fall arc of six episodes and a second run of seventeen consecutive episodes beginning in February 2007. According to executive producer Damon Lindelof, there will be new characters introduced this season as the fans get to know more of the plane crash survivors. There will be fewer flashbacks of the original characters since the new ones will have their own that will become a unique and central component of the series. Lindelof and Carlton Cuse noted that if the second season was about the hatch, then the third season will be about the Others, as led by "Henry Gale" (who will join the regular cast). Cuse also mentioned what viewers will learn about the Others during the third season: Who are these people? What is their history? How many of them are there? What are they trying to accomplish?

Phishergirl puts index fingers together and says in a Mr. Burns voice: "Excellent."
17 new episodes in a row???  That'll be like...awesome.  I am pleased to hear that the 3rd season is about the Others, and not about relationships and love and stuff.

Im also please to see that theres going to be some englightenment about 'the other'. There needs to be some answers, but as ever with Lost there is still going to a story laced with bits of Love. Its probably going to be like the truth come out instead of these lovegames going on.

ALSO!... I want to see the 'smoke monster' again!

17 weeks sounds great , but if you listened to the pod cast, christmas is going to be err frustrating.  What they said is that they would show 6 episodes, as a mini series type thing with a cliff hanger at the end of the 6th episode and then a 12 week break before launching into the 17 episodes starting from february.

Please note im not complaining about the 12 week break but just pointing it out. If you think about it that means no eps in second half of november, december n jannuary.  I say everyone should take up skiing or snowboarding (prefrably snowboarding) n we should all spend those 3 months being lazy in the french alps.

I did kind of wince when the producers said about this love story line.  I think its a good idea as jack n kate have been beating around the bush for far far too long now, but i am hoping that it doesnt become a main focus of lost.  It is funny though cos 2 weeks ago my friend and I both commented on the duiea that we like how lost doesn't go really heavy on the love thing llike most holiwood esque productions.  It seems to take a more realistic view in a way.

Im just wondering what they mean by less of the main characters.  Does this mean less Jack n less Locke ?  To be frank i couldnt careless about Jack but it would be sad to see Locke fade away.  In the ewnd its going to be itnersting to see how they melled all these new ideas together next season.  I keep thinking that with each season Lost really cant get any bigger or deeper, but somehow it does.

if they do a love story thing, then i'm not going to watch it. unless the rest is really cool.

i dunno, lately it just seems to be getting a bit soppy with all these pointless issues about trust, love and other crap that we have to put up with in our daily lives. you just end up hating all of the losties and hope they all get shot by the others and told to shut up.

its ridiculous. 4 mths break to next season and after showing jus 6 episodes they're gonna haf another break. man. i jus cant wait on no more. and i somehow got this feeling the 6 episodes arent gonna reveal aniting bout the others.. maybe if they do reveal, would be jus a slight information onli. not much into detail until after the break. damn! i hate waiting..!

Personally I think the love elements are pretty essential for building real characters around which the story vcan unfold.

Eventhough the dharma/others/elctrmgntsm/testing stuff is the real juiceI think that it's easy to get too demanding for it and forget that the writer's do a pretty good (and necessary) job ofdeveloping the characters and their relationships.

One of my personal favourite moments in the whole 2 series is when in season 1 after Michael accused Jin of setting fire to the raft and Jin walks out onto the beach sating 'boat' as he dumps down a load of bamboo to help rebuild the raft.

Anyway, relationship stuuf is cool, but I do agree that too much slop would do my head in and I do hope that the primary focus is layed on the others' history

This could be -- but am thinking maybe the new characters will be others -- or maybe another boat will crash.  I dunno.   Actually, more likely just background passengers who will get their due.
