Just something i noticed watchin this episode tonight.  While we dont know if the video of sayid is videotaped or live we do know the scene is taking place in the early part of the new millenium.  The recruiting campaign is the "ARMY OF ONE" campaign started in 2001 (i think).  So this could hint to sayid being part of the current war in iraq.

Maybe someone have noticed that there is no "LIVE" characters on the TV, and there's no network character either, and the officers inside the recruiting office aren't very surprised by the "NEWS". I've also noticed something under thr TV set, on the rack - it looks like a VCR player. I think that it's a promotional video of that particular recruiting office showing Kate's dad arresting some guy in Iraq, and the recruiting officers are tired of watching the same video. If the TV was showing a news channel it would probably be showing Kate's picture for WANTED!!! (Sorry for the english errors - not my native language).
