I believe http://www.widmore.com may be an official site. I know it hasn't been linked back to any of the official sites so far, but it seems that the official sites have the same kind of webmail. If you go to

http://webmail.thehansofoundation.org
http://webmail.letyourcompassguideyou.com
http://webmail.djdan.am
http://webmail.widmore.com

they all take you an identical type of webmail system (same colors, fonts, layouts, options, source codes etc.). I took a quick look at the page sources, and they all seem to be extremely similar, if not identical (I didn't compare them line by line or anything).
widmore.com was created the day after we were told about the Widmore sign by podcast, ABC would have created it in advance.

All official (experience) sites are hosted on the same two TUCows servers (ns1.mediatemple.net, ns2.mediatemple.net)

I didn't actually expect that to be true of the sites shown in the commercials, but it is - this is how I confirmed the legitamacy of djdan.am.

The IP address of the djdan site is the same as that of thehansofoundation site Smiley

Keep this in mind when finding new sites, I know I will:
All official (experience) sites are hosted on the same two TUCows servers (ns1.mediatemple.net, ns2.mediatemple.net)

I didn't actually expect that to be true of the sites shown in the commercials, but it is - this is how I confirmed the legitamacy of djdan.am.

They are all also hosted with the same software (presumably that used of TUCows), and thus have identical webmail forms. - as posted above.
This can be faked, but when coupled with being hosted on the servers I mentioned, this makes it ALMOST a 100% probability of being a legit site.  Just figured I'd throw that out there for everyone.

The sites ARE NOT HOSTED on TUCOWS the NS1 and 2 are MEDIATEMPLE DOMAIN NAME SERVERS not web hosting systems they only provide name resolution and are not owned by tucows(I Have NO idea where you got that information, the only possibility is that the domains are registered through tucows) Also The webmail that is standard on normal mediatemple accounts is not the same as those listed above (I have a mediatemple account and my name servers for my domain are the same as those listed above and my webmail is different) media temple uses squirrlemail for its accounts which can be changed given enough cash I'm sure...

some interesting info on thehansofoundation.org whois {

Following the Retrievers Of Truth and it's creation date of 15-May-2006, this means that the creation date is now not a safe method for determining Fake from Fan sites Sad

Follow the paper trail and maintain "chain of evidence" !

Good spotting, Oceanic.  Also, may I suggest adding GaryTroup.net?  Essentially the same as GaryTroupBooks.net but we know from Rachel's blog that it is an official site.

Well, I'm not entirely sure if this is anything to do with the Lost Experience game or not, but check out eon8.com (or .net or .org) for a suspicious-enough looking website.

Anyone heard anything about it?

Check this link for more info: http://eon8theinvestigation.ytmnd.com/

(Apologies btw, if this turns out to be nothing to do with Lost)

I checked out the site and was not able to find anyway to access it. I think it might just be another fan site or a knockoff ARG of the Lost Experience.

wtf?!  Huh woah, that music creeps me out!

i don't think this is in-game. when u go to the YTMND link, u can go to its website which is said to be established in 2001.

this is said in the about section:

"YTMND, an acronym for "You're The Man Now, Dog!", is a website community that centers around the creation of YTMNDs, which are pages featuring a juxtaposition of a single image, optionally animated or tiled, along with large zooming text and a looping sound file. YTMND is also the general term used to describe any such site."

"YTMND is a site created for the purpose of furthering the creativity of its users. It stems from an idea that, using sound, and image, and some text, the users can convey a point, funny, political, or otherwise, to the general media."

tis strange...but intriguing!

Oh, so apparently eon8.com wasn't anything to do with the Lost ARG.

http://forum.ebaumsworld.com/showthread.php?t=130492

Some of the dudes on ebaumsworld managed to solve it.  Apparently, the countdown is nothing more than the date of the admin's birthday, and the login bit leads to a forum.  The people who made it were wondering just how much traffic they would get from something like this.

Well, it required a lot of work, but LOST-n-Found is all moved into it's new home at, http://lost-n-found.dharmasecrets.com. The new blog is basically imported posts from my old blog on blogspot, but thanks to Word Press, this new and improved LOST-n-Found blog offers even better functionality for readers looking for information about the LOST Experience Alternate Reality Game. One thing that I have done, is that all posts are now divided into the following categories for easy reference. So, if you want to listen to DJ Dan's old podcasts, you can just click on the "DJ Dan catagory, and pull up all posts relating to him instead of trying to scroll through the 100+ posts.
Quote
~ARG Related Sites (Sublymonal, Let Your Compass Guide You, etc.)
~DJ Dan
~Gary Troup
~The Hanso Executives (Full recaps on Hanso, Mittelwerk, Thompson, and McIntyre)
~Persephone (Everything about here Numbers, and Hole clues)
~Rachel Blake
~Retrievers of Truth
~The Hanso Foundation Website (Full recaps on all thf.org hacks)
~News and Spoilers (Info about the show)
~Theory Mongering (My Theories)
~Miscellaneous (Random stuff about LOST)
Also included are the “Headlines” links to frequently used posts. These are posts, which have information that people are constantly searching for or are topics and announcements that I would like to highlight. So, I have removed them from the jumbled mess of the blog, and given them their own page with links in the sidebar for easy access.
Quote
~My clue timeline with links to all relevant posts, which will make finding information on the blog even easier.
~An up to date list of official and un-official ARG related sites, complete with links.
~A storyline of what is going on with the in-game characters.
I hope that this new format will help you, my fellow gamers, to sort through the mountain of information that is the LOST Experience, and in the end get us that much closer to cracking this game, and the secrets of LOST.
