Correct me if im wrong but i believe survival 101 states that, if approached by a bear PLAY DEAD! Doing so will lead to them ignoring you. So. If Eko was knocked the fuck out, how the hell did he manage to end up in the cave? If he was dragged he would of had mauled marks. Or brusies from being pounded to the ground. So, how exactly did Eko get into the cave?

I have absolutley no idea. Actually, what I was thinking was: Since when the hell do bears drag their victims? Then again, I wouldn't know.

Or...perhaps the Island placed him there for Locke...hey, it's Lost, it could happen.

Polar bears are not usually found in a tropical climate. Is it possible that part of its adaptation includes taking on unlikely behaviors? Just a shot in the dark.

I get what you're saying; I'm just not yet ready to label the writers as being sloppy in this instance. Rarely, if ever, do we get the question and the answer in the same episode. I'm expecting (read: hoping) that we'll get more info about this in the future.

Here's another thought . . . the smoke monster has been known to drag people through the jungle. Could there be some relation or correlation?

Well "in particular" ... they do

http://texnat.tamu.edu/ranchref/predator/bears/t-bears.htm

"Grizzlies typically drag their kills into cover prior to feeding."
"Black bears prefer to feed in seclusion and often drag their prey to cover."

Damned internet :-)

Not where I was going. Thought I might try to have a conversation about it . . . doesn't look like that's what you were looking for.
